Salary: £49,275 - £55,668 per annum plus London weighting where applicable

As a Legal Officer you will work within one of our specialist regulatory teams using your positive attitude and initiative, excellent communication skills and ability to maintain the highest professional standards whilst working within tight timescales to deliver legal advice, support and representation to RCN members.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who will join our Multi-Disciplinary Legal Team which supports our members in a broad range of regulatory matters, ranging from fitness to practise proceedings before the NMC, allegations of fraudulent or incorrect entry onto the NMC Register, drafting responses to DBS minded to bar letters and assessing a member’s status before a Coroner.
You will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX Fellow or CILEX Lawyer with experience in handling a large caseload of regulatory cases.
Working within a team, you will deliver excellent customer service to our members whilst maintaining the highest professional standards ensuring that you manage your time effectively and meet all deadlines.
We are looking for candidates preferably with experience of inquests and/or in areas of healthcare regulatory law, such as fitness to practise cases; registration appeals and legal matters relating to the Disclosure and Barring Service. Other relevant areas of experience include legal matters relating to the Care Quality Commission; family law; immigration law, criminal law and judicial review.
