Data Analyst

Location: RCN UK HQ or Cardiff Gate Office hybrid working,

35 hours per week

Fixed term contract until 24/12/2025

Salary scale: £36705 - £41466 per annum (plus inner London weighting £5094 per annum where applicable)

Do you have the skills necessary to evaluate, interpret and present analytical outcomes and communicate these, to enhance achievement of business objectives, KPI’s and other performance indicators?

You will use your acquired knowledge and skills in performance analytics to improve evidence-led decision making in the RCN. The outcome of which, will be used to enhance data reporting and analytics for member satisfaction and commercial growth.

The data context will be varied, with the key duties and exploring requirements, assessing data accessibility and quality, undertaking basic and advanced analytics, including statistical analytics and performance management approaches, and looking for automation and AI opportunities in the current processes and ways of working.

The primary responsibilities will be to continue and influence the initial development of performance measurement framework(s) and deep-dive analytics to enhance intelligence development and insights into action, in your priority work areas.

Finally, it will also be a key requirement of the role to be visible to stakeholders and a great communicator, working with other data professionals to create the platform for a professional data service within the RCN.

You’ll need to be confident and competent with performance data management, manipulation, analysis, and visualisation. With strong skills in developing insights and intelligence for targeted action.

You will need to comfortable in trailblazing new ways of working, influencing change and introducing best practice frameworks. The Data and Analytics Function is on a journey at the RCN and focus for 2025 is building on the good foundations for future success. This means you may be acting as the sole representative for the data function on your priority workstreams and need to be able to work effectively as part of a team, independently and with a range of stakeholders.

We need some who can be adaptable covering both data visualisation and dashboarding and most importantly deep-drive performance and insight analytics to tell effective stories and present recommendations. We are looking for someone who aligns to the to the DDAT capability framework here.

We use a Microsoft Stack at the RCN, therefore we are looking for people who are already competent in using Microsoft SSMS, SSRS and PowerBi.
